Did you know that recycling and composting keeps roughly
65 million tons of material from ending up in landfills and
incinerators? The U.S. recycles 28 percent of its waste, a two-fold
increase from 15 years ago.
Slow cooker tip: No peeking. Removing the lid on a slow
cooker during cooking releases a great deal of heat, so resist the urge
to peek.
Did you know that you can make one cup of coffee without
the fuss and mess of a coffee pot? Just put a level tablespoon of coffee
in a tea strainer and place it in a cup. Add boiling water and let it
steep to the strength that you like your coffee.
Did you know that if you have a few extra tomatoes you
can puree them in a food processor, pour them into ice cube trays,
freeze them, and then use them as a base for soups, stews or chili? You
can do the same thing with other vegetables of your choosing.
Did you know that you can make a perfect soft-boiled
egg? Very carefully take a pin and put a tiny hole at each end of the
egg. Gently place it in a pan of boiling water for just four minutes.
When you take the egg out of the boiling water, it will be perfect.
Did you know that you can save yourself gas and time
when running errands by just keeping a to-do list on the back of your
sun visor that is in front of you? That way, you can run your errands in
order, so you are not running helter-skelter.
Hope these will help you. My thought for the month is:
Happy Mother’s Day to moms of all ages.
