Did you know that . . .
--If you have stains on your light colored fabric or
upholstery, you can pour enough cornmeal on the stain to cover it and
let it set for 15 to 30 minutes and then just vacuum up the grains and
the stain?
--A nutcracker makes an excellent tool to remove caps
from containers that are hard to open? Just clamp the nutcracker around
the top of a glue, nail polish or beverage bottle and twist. You will be
amazed at the extra gripping power you get.
--If you need a funnel and don’t have one, you can use
an ordinary ziplock bag? Use one that you have already washed out and
saved to reuse again. Put whatever you have to be funneled into the
baggie, tip all of the contents enclosed to your left, snip off the
right hand corner, hold it over the container you are filling, and watch
how easy it works. You can wash it out, put it in a special place and
use it when you need a funnel again. Put a paper clip on the cut right
hand corner and take it off when the baggie is over the container to be
filled.
--If your flashlight has gone dark or your smoke alarm
doesn’t work when you test it, you don’t have to replace the batteries
right away? Instead, take the batteries out of whatever device they are
in and clean the terminal ends with a pencil eraser. Clean the inside of
the battery compartments also and then put the batteries back into the
device and check to see if they work. Sometimes this procedure works
quite well.
Hope these hints help you save some money. Till next
time, remember that a laugh is a smile that explodes.
