National Day Day of Prayer Held






Those helping with the concessions at the National Day of Prayer
included, left to right, Loretta Siers, Arlis Miller, Madeline Dawson,
Opal Swisher, Wayne Denham, Susie Metheney, Madaline Moore, Maria Keen,
and Terry Siers. Proceeds went to the food pantry at First Baptist
Church, Grantsville.
April Birthdays At CCCOA.

Celebrating April birthdays at the Senior Citizens Center, Grantsville,
on Apr. 25 were, left to right, Blanche Kendall, Karen Yoak and Jim
Wilt.
Benefit Held For Jennifer Propst Miller.

Propst Wilson and Joann Propst Stevens. |

Donnie Price (shown on left with Jim Sullivan) brought his custom-built
barbecue grill to prepare meats for the Jennifer Propst Miller Benefit
dinner. His grill is called "Duck Alley Barbecue" in memory of his
father, Bill Price, a well-known barber in Grantsville from the '60s to
the '80s.

Arnoldsburg VFD Holds Pig Roast.

Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Dept. held its annual pig roast last Saturday
at West Fork Park, Arnoldsburg. A silent auction was held during the
evening with some good buys donated by local merchants. Shown above,
left to right, fire chief Harold Carpenter, assistant chief Fred
Waybright, and assistant chief Joe Tanner. Below are Carl Marks and the
Marks Family singing. Carl is a preacher and a retired fire fighter, and
serves the department as chaplain.

Starcher Honored At Glenville State College
Jeanette L. Starcher, of Chloe, a sophomore nursing major, was honored
April 23 by the Glenville State College Dept. of Science and Mathematics
for exceptional academic accomplishments and contributions to the GSC
community. She also serves as secretary for the GSC Pioneers in Nursing.
