Led by championship performances of Cody Clark (140 lbs.) and Ben Laughlin (152), the Calhoun matmen placed third of 18 teams at the Jason Eades Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Pt. Pleasant    Hill School last Friday and Saturday.

Clark was 9-0 with six pins and Laughlin was 8-0 with three pins.

Placing second were Jared Haught (160), Tim Sutro (189) and Caden Arnold (215). Each was 8-1. Austin Moore (130) and Christian Cottrell (285) were fourth, and Zach Hanshaw, who suffered an injury and was unable to compete on Saturday, was sixth.

Freshmen Levi Gordon (103) and Ricky Allen (112) and junior Dillon Richards (145) won their first career matches, and Seth Wease (135) finished with a record of 7-2.

Calhoun will participate in the Roane County Duals on Wednesday, Dec. 30. Wrestling begins at 11 a.m.
