The CHS wrestling team defeated three varsity teams and a reserve team from Parkersburg South B on Saturday at home.

Sophomore Caden Arnold, 171 lbs., pinned his South B opponent in 58 seconds and finished 4-0 at the Calhoun duals.

Junior Tim Sutro, 189 lbs., was 3-1 on Saturday, including a pin in 1:15 of this South B opponent.

Senior Sean Gungle, 135 lbs., lets an opponent loose on the way to a
4-0 record at Calhoun High School.

The Red Devils won dual matches over Grafton, 52-24; Roane County, 48-30; and Wirt County, 51-21; and scored a lop-sided victory, 62-12, against the South B team.

Calhoun had five wrestlers who went 4-0: Cody Clark (130 lbs.), Sean Gungle (135), Harley Hamrick (140), Jeremy Conley (152), and Caden Arnold (171).

Three others were 3-1: Zach Hanshaw (119), Aaron Yoak 160), and Tim Sutro (189). Christian Cottrell (285) was 2-1.

The team was without the services of Ben Laughlin (145), who was out with an injury. He is 10-0 on the season.

Calhoun will wrestle in the Nitro Pat Vance Invitational at Nitro High School on Friday and Saturday. Announced starting times are 2:30 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In addition to CHS and the host Nitro squad, teams planning to attend are Capital, George Washington, Hurricane, Lewis County, Liberty Harrison, Lincoln County, North Marion, Oak Hill, Poca, Riverside, St. Albans, Shady Spring, Sheldon Clark, South Charleston,  Spring Valley and Winfield.
