APRIL FOOLS
NOTE: The April 1 issue of The Calhoun Chronicle was printed with a single,
upside-down page which included spoof articles.
This is April Fool’s Day! I don’t have ideas like Lisa, Newton and others,
but I can share the fun and laughter of their work. Please enjoy this issue with
as much laughter as we did while it was being planned.
In the Bible, even laughter is mentioned. Job 8:21 says, “He will fill your
mouth with laughter.”
One of our young sons and an equally young guest decided to make a swimming
pool in the playroom one afternoon. They had used and army helmet (provided by
the Uncle Dick Morris) to make many trips from the bathroom to the playroom. By
the time we finally got the message from an older brother, the water completely
covered the floor.
The adults were running around with all the towels, sheets and rugs we could
find. I could not keep from laughing.
Carl said, “This is not funny!” But there was nothing else to do but laugh!
Life is full of big messes which I can do nothing about, but how I react is
strictly up to me. Laughter is less stressful than anger, and it is a lot more
fun!
It’s time for me to lighten up and see the humor in our world. One of God’s
best creations in our bodies is our “funny bone.”
