A group of first grade students from Arnoldsburg
Elementary School visited Heritage Village at Calhoun County Park.
Members of Calhoun Historical Society gave them a tour of the village
and opportunities to experience various aspects of early life in the
county.
Below are excerpts from thank you letters sent to
the Historical Society from some of the Arnoldsburg students:
“Thank you for the trip to Heritage Village Park. I
enjoyed the music.” --Levi Allen
“Thank you for showing us the tour.” --Meaghan

“I really enjoyed the store.” --Shyanna Jeffrey
“Thank you for letting us go in the black smith’s
shop.” --Ottice Greathouse
“Thank you for talking to us about history. I
really enjoyed about how we made water cups.” --Ashley Thomas
“Thank you for having some nice things. Thank you
for showing me a gas motor.” --Jarrett Allen
“Thank you for letting us visit. We saw in the
past.” --Nicole Wolf
“I learned about the one room school and the old
house.” --Austin Badgett
“I learned about history.” --Bronson Bennett
“We had a great time. I enjoyed everything we did.”

Other letters included were from Gabriel, MaKayla,
Kalab, Alexis, Tori, Tyler Hannah, Jason C. Burford, Luke Allen, Kyla
Lovejoy, Logan Smith, Jaden Swearingen and Sheyla Hall.
The Historical Society expressed its appreciation
to the students for the letters. Society members said they enjoyed the
day just as much as the students, and hope to see everyone at Heritage
Village again.
