“Clean up, clean up, everybody do your
share.
Clean up, clean up, everybody
everywhere!”
Barney, the purple dinosaur, has made these words
famous, every age and every where.
Spring is just 10 days away and clean up is at the top
of to do lists, from neighborhoods to small children at a day care
center.
Businesses are clearing away remaining snow from parking
lots, people are cleaning out their houses, preparing for yard sales and
flea markets, and young people are doing yard and lawn clean up.
Hardware and home stores are preparing for upcoming sales on cleaning,
repairing and painting supplies.
Calhoun County will be the host to festivals, Civil War
re-enactments, reunions, and other events that many visitors and friends
will attend. It is time for all of us to do our part in making our homes
and communities something that people will notice, instead of run down
buildings and junky yards.
Sometimes, we look at our places and think, “This is
overwhelming, I don’t know where to start.” If each person, property
owner or renter will start with one small area, it may influence your
neighbors to do the same.
Remember the old Bible School song:
“You’ll bring the one next to you,
and I’ll bring the one next to me,
In all kinds of weather, we’ll all
work together,
And see what can be done.”
Let’s join together, everybody, to give Calhoun County a
Spring cleaning!
