Philippians 1:6 - “Being confident of this very
thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until
the day of Jesus Christ:”
Time slips by fast as the work of the Lord
continues. We have had a wonderful past few months serving the Lord here
in Canada. God has shown Himself faithful time and time again. Through
our Soul-winning efforts, we have seen two precious souls come to trust
Christ as Savior. They have been coming faithfully and growing in the
Lord. Continue to pray, as this has stirred those involved in
Soul-winning.
Our fall schedule has been tremendous, and we have
had visitors coming out from the community for various services. They
have come because of the door knocking, seeing the church sign by the
road, and personal invitations by those in the church. Our special
services have produced fruit. We had a soul make a profession of faith
in Christ at our anniversary service, and visitors come for other
special meetings. Our first Missions Conference went wonderfully, with
our church committing just over 4k to missions for the next year through
Faith Promise. We have also started a Children’s ministry on Friday
nights. It has been wonderful, as we have had 17-20 children attending.
Many of them know little about Jesus Christ. Some have never even heard
His Name, but God is working.
Our last letter mentioned a family who was possibly
coming to help us start a French speaking church. Continue to pray that
God will lead the person or family He desires to help us establish a
French church plant. There are a few different areas around here that
need a church that is French speaking.
Our basement is finally finished from the flood
damage of last April. However, we continue to push on to finish the rest
of the building as God allows us. We still have to finish three Sunday
School/nursery rooms, redo the entry ramp, washroom, and build a
baptistery, platform and pulpit. We had a special blessing as we sent
out an update on the need for a steeple because people in the community
still thought our building was a bar. We had a great outpouring of God’s
people as He, through them, covered the cost of the engineering fees
plus the materials to build it. What a Blessing! Needless to say, the
steeple is complete and up on the roof. Amen!
On the home front, we are still waiting for Phebe’s
surgery to be scheduled to remove her rib. We have also been trying to
deal with a serious issue of mould in the house. It seems the former
owners painted over and hid the problem. It is in several areas of our
home, up and downstairs. Please make this a matter of prayer.
Thank you for all your prayers and notes that we
receive. We are praying for you all.
