Football, basketball and wrestling seasons are over
this year, and baseball and softball are underway for our young
athletes, so we thought this
would be a good time to let them know that their hard work and
dedication are enjoyed by the people of Calhoun County.
Newton Nichols, editor, makes it plain to the rest
of the staff, that win or lose, our young people deserve support and
publicity. Even the reserve players should have their names in the paper
because they were there for conditioning and practice, and pictures also
must be identified because they are part of Calhoun Pride.
The coaches, for the most part, have been very
cooperative in sending in the game stats to the newspaper. Sports
archives can also be found at our website,
www.calhounchronicle.com.
Coaching our young people requires extra time and
caring that may not have sufficient monetary rewards, but, as role
models for students and athletes, the impact on future generations will
be visible.
Our coaches are developing disciplined young men
and women that will be future leaders.
The parents show their dedication too. Funds must
be raised, transportation provided, and family schedules rearranged to
meet the demands of the various sports.
We congratulate all who are involved, and want you
to know that it is a pleasure to be a part of Calhoun sports.
