I was reading a story about Sojourner Truth. She
was an outstanding black woman, who was born as a slave, and could not
read or write. Her faith was very strong, and she spent her life walking
the roads of America, preaching about God’s truth.
She was in her late 70s when her Quaker friends
felt that she should use their buggy. One day they realized that she
could not read the road signs. They asked, “How do you find your way?”
She replied, “When I come to a crossroads, I let
the reins go slack close my eyes and say, “Lord, it is time for you to
drive. He always takes me to a place where I have a good meeting.”
This is a story that has lots of meaning for me.
Earlier, I told you about General MacArthur, who was faced each night
with decisions. He would pray and say, “God, you do the worrying, I am
going to sleep!” Within a few hours or days, when I am thinking of
something else, the answer pops into my mind.
Psalms 48:14: He (God) will be our guide even unto
death.
It is almost Easter. Take time to remember who can
be your guide, if you let Him.
