Sgt. O.S. “Okey” Starsick II is the new commander at the
Grantsville State Police detachment.

Sgt. O.S. Starsick II
After graduating from Fairmont State College and the
State Police Academy, Starsick was stationed in Charlestown and Elkins.
After 9/11, for a few months, he went to an undercover
status in Marion County on a joint terrorism task force.
He has since been stationed in Tucker County, South
Charleston, Parkersburg, and, for the past five years, in Ritchie
County.
In October, Starsick will celebrate 12 years as a state
trooper. He livesin Gilmer County with his wife and three children.
Starsick said, “I plan to work with all the agencies in
the county the best I can.”
