The Calhoun Chronicle is
TaLonne Mefford, 22, a student at Glenville State College.
She is the daughter of Tracy Cunningham and husband Chad
of Grantsville and Robert Mefford and wife Terri Lawrentz of Cairo. Two
siblings, Kaitlin Mefford and Cody Cunningham, are graduates of Calhoun
County High School, and brother, Dillon Mefford, is a senior. She also
has a niece, Raylee Ann.
TaLonne graduated from Ritchie County High School in
2006. When she completes her studies at GSC, she will have a bachelor of
science in biology, bachelor of arts in education for biological
sciences, and bachelor of arts in education for general science.
After college, she plans to teach biology or general
science at CCHS or at a high school in a surrounding county.
While at Glenville, she has participated in various
campus activities, including cross country (four years), track (two
years throwing a javelin), and mentor (GSC elementary and high school
programs).

TaLonne MeffordHer part time
jobs since high school include waiting tables at Pizza Hut and
Smokehouse BBQ, scooping ice cream at Dairy Queen, and cooking for
hundreds at Stillwaters.
“I am very excited for this opportunity to write for The
Calhoun Chronicle. It will be a different work experience than I am used
to doing, but I am definitely up to the challenge,” said Mefford.
