Calhoun Historical Society held its Jan. 13 meeting at the Family History Center Museum, Main St., Grantsville.

Members gathered early to put away Christmas displays, work on snow scenes for January, and clean the facility.

The History Center Museum now has a telephone for incoming and local calls. The number is 354-0000. The new email address is calhouncountywvhistorycenter@frontier.com.

The following events are held at the Family History Center Museum:

--Monthly meeting, second Thursday, 6 p.m.

--Monthly fund raising luncheon, third Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

--Open House, each Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

--Committee for grants and finance, third Monday, 6 p.m.

Heating and air conditioning have been upgraded, and cabinet hardware, handcrafted by blacksmith Grant Clark, has been installed in the  kitchen.

Plans are being made to present the Legends and Lore tour and to participate in Calhoun Days 2011 at Calhoun County Park.

New members and visitors are always welcome.
