Two projects are underway in Calhoun County that
have a combined price tag of $7.8 million.
Construction to replace the Corder Bridge at the
Calhoun-Roane county line on Rts. 33-119 got underway last week.
Bilco Construction of South Charleston was awarded
the contract for $2.6 million.
The old bridge has had a weight restriction of 32
tons.

The Mt. Zion Public Service District-Sand Ridge
water extension project, with a cost of $5.2 million, will extend
service to Sand Ridge, Russett, and Rt. 16 South of Arnoldsburg.
Bruce Allen Pipeline of Harrisville began work on
the 21-mile project on Sassafras Ridge between Rts. 33/119 and Russett.Both
projects will affect traffic in Calhoun at least through the middle of
2011.
