Turkey season is rapidly coming to a close.
Hopefully, hunters got to pursue and possibly bag the wild turkey. They
are still gobbling, but not as much. Hunters willing to put in effort
can be successful.
The trout are still biting at the Calhoun County
Park pond. Everyone is urged to go and enjoy the resource. Ronzel Boothe
has had plenty of good table fare. Trout are excellent on the grill or
filleted.
This time of year, I’ve been thinking about
catfish. The beauty of catfishing is that it is cheap. Chicken liver is
still under $2 and a pack of hooks and sinkers won’t set you back as
much as a gallon of gas. Bank fishing or trotlining is an excellent way
to gain some catfish for the table.
