Archery season begins Saturday. Anyone hoping to
take an additional deer must purchase an additional archery stamp before
the season opens. This is one rule from the
DNR
that I despise. In Ohio
and Indiana,
an additional license may be purchased at anytime during the season.
Successful hunters will do preseason scouting to
determine deer locations and travel patterns. Some preseason time spent
in the woods can pay rewards later on in the season. Scouting should
consist of finding active deer trails, prevailing food sources, and
indicators such as rubs.
